A couple more pics that have nothing to do with documentary filmmaking... just because we're parents now.

Well well, the news just gets bigger and bigger. Finally, it's become double big news. First off: on the 21st of July, Lee signed a contract for a production deal with Microtainment Plus Inc. here in Toronto. They're undertaking to pitch Adolescent Sublime both in Canada as well as at the major film and television markets overseas. Hey, it hasn't sold yet but they've got a whole lot more experience talking the talk than this first-time filmmaker. Read on for even bigger news...

Veronika Litinski, erstwhile Adolescent Sublime producer, steps aside (heaving a huge sigh of relief) to let the industry pros take over. But does that mean the love of our aforementioned first-time filmmaker's life is giving up producing? I don't think so. In fact, this wonderwoman has just launched the dynamic duo's latest and greatest co-production to date. Tentatively titled, Baby Lion, the project was nine months in preproduction alone. Press Releases might be taking this extended metaphor to a tacky extreme. Instead, here are a pair of poems (presumptuously edited by the proud papa) and some pics to mark the occasion of Zaviar Lyon Gotham's arrival at 3:05am August 7, 2004.

Invitation to Baby Lion
We haven't yet met but I love you already
because you make me pause in awe of life.
With you in I, I tremble with the dragon fly
on green leaves tickled by summer breeze.
I stop while raindrops make their way to earth
and drink their traces in the fastness of night sky.

On the Birth of Baby Lion
I wish you Kyoto accords and fast wind energy,
and peace in Jerusalem and in the hearts of tyrants,
and whales in the seas and cool spring rains,
and friendship as strong as oaks and wonder at the Milky Way,
and humble teachers who recognize their ignorance
as they gaze in awe at the vastness of creation.
I wish you the warm breath of air in summer,
endless clear lakes with picnics and rope swings,
big city cafés and the chattering edge of the new,
and what's beautiful of man and all his creations.
I wish you fulfillment in each day,
and recognition of the miracle, life.
I wish you strength to surpass pain,
the heart to prevent cruelty,
and wisdom to persevere
in the search for truths to guide you.
Welcome, Baby Lion!
